We are currently seeking a very special someone to guide our fabulous students as a Synergy Autism Mentor. Our students struggle with the typical classroom scenario and are learning academics and essential quality of life skills through our program. Our program guides students at home, their community, and slowly re-integrates them into their community school when they are ready to do so.
We ask you to have some experience with guiding children, teens, and/or adults but it is not necessary that you already have experience with autism. You must be a communicator, open, honest, consistent, reliable, and willing to learn.
We are seeking someone who is willing to work as an independent contractor and flexible with hours. We usually start people out with just 2-8 hours per week as they train and get to know our students. As we get to know you and you feel comfortable with our approach, we offer more hours, as appropriate. Training is both paid for by our program AND you are paid to attend it! You will receive Synergy Autism Mentor-Level 1 certification as a part of your work with us. Many of our Synergy Autism Mentors also work with students through the county or state programs offering respite or personal support to compliment their Synergy hours.
You must be able to pass a background check, provide 3 references, and have some experience teaching/guiding children or adults with or without disabilities. Please send a short description of your interest, your resume and 3 references to: firstname.lastname@example.org
We look forward to hearing from you!
